December 3, 2012

Go with the Flow - the Phenomenal Science of Fluids (9th Annual Faraday Science Show)

The Faraday Show is UBC’s annual science lecture, designed for children, presented by the Department of Physics & Astronomy, and the Department of Chemistry. The theme this year is Go with the Flow, the Phenomenal Science of Fluids! What are fluids? Why do things float and how can we keep a ball floating in mid-air with a vacuum cleaner? What is a lava lamp and how does it work? What are liquid crystals? Burst water balloons, and watch the replay in slow-motion. We will also have our hovercraft for you to ride and to learn how it works. This show is for children of ALL AGES, and adults who are young at heart!
