On behalf of the UBC Postdoctoral Association, we are pleased to announce that UBC Postdoctoral Research Day 2026 will be held on Monday, November 30 at the Life Sciences Institute (2350 Health Sciences Mall).

This annual event celebrates the diverse research of UBC’s postdoctoral fellows. The day will feature oral and poster presentations, a keynote talk, a panel discussion, and networking opportunities with peers and faculty across disciplines.

This year's theme is “Beyond your lab: New knowledge starts with collaboration”. Complex problems benefit from having different perspectives and research does not need to be done only independently. Collaboration avoids disconnection and also means engaging the community.

Research Day will run from 9am to 6pm on November 30, 2026 at the Life Sciences Institute (2350 Health Sciences Mall), featuring postdoc research talks and posters, a keynote address, and a panel discussion on “Collaborations across disciplines”. Our goal is to celebrate and highlight the breadth, diversity, and excellence of postdoctoral research at UBC, while encouraging knowledge exchange, meaningful connections, and new collaborations.

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Agni Klintuni Boedhihartono, an Associate Professor from the UBC Faculty of Forestry. Her talk will highlight her interdisciplinary work exploring the relationships between people, cultures, and the natural environment. Through visual techniques, landscape scenario planning, and participatory methods, she engages diverse stakeholders and fosters collaboration across disciplines and cultural contexts to address complex challenges.
