PHYS503: Projects

2005 projects:

2004 projects:

Instructions on grading your colleagues' projects:

Each project will be evaluated independently for three criteria:
  1. The presentation: how well was it delivered, how well was the available time used, how well were the other students' questions answered, etc.
  2. The write-up: how well it supported the presentation, is it readable and can the calculations and reasonings be followed fairly easily, is it properly referenced, etc.
  3. The overall project: how does it compare with the other projects in terms of amount of work involved, does the student seem to have mastered the material well?

After all the presentations are finished but before the final I expect to receive an email from you with the following information for each of your fellow colleagues' projects:
  • for each of the three criteria listed above, a grade between 1 and 5, where 1=very poor, 2=poor, 3=good, 4=very good, 5=perfect. Only integer and half-integer grades are to be given, the rest will be rounded to the closed such number (e.g. 3.672 will be replaced with 3.5).
  • a ranking of the projects, starting with the one you liked (or impressed you) most.
