Accommodations
On-campus Accommodation at UBC: Available Now!
We have on-campus accommodations held for conference participants until July 4:
- Totem Park Residence (click here for residence details, including map, check-in times, etc)
- 10 minute walk from Hennings (Physics) Building. Totem has single and twin rooms with shared washrooms available at $39/person/night, including breakfast.
- Gage Towers (click here for residence details) - 5 minute walk from Hennings Physics. Gage has 6 single bedrooms sharing a common lounge and 2-shower washroom. Rate is $47/person/night, including breakfast.
- West Coast Suites (click here for details) - 5 minute walk from Hennings Physics,
suitable for 2-4 sharing, or those bringing families - has fully equipped kitchen. Rate is $179/night including breakfast.

These special rates will be available to conference participants from July 29- August 7,

Other Accommodations
The following are sample accommodations available on-campus and off-campus. Those interested are asked to make their own arrangements:
TRIUMF House: within walking/bus distance from the UBC Physics and Astronomy Department. You can share a room with another person,
rates start at $110/night.
Stanley Park area Hotels: more expensive, public transportation to UBC is available.
You can share a room with another person to reduce the rate.
The two hotels listed below are recommended, are charming "old" hotels with small but cozy rooms.
Both are in fabulous locations, both within a 4-minute walk to Stanley Park,
and are "inexpensive" by downtown Vancouver standards. Both fill up fast.
- Sylvia Hotel Beachfront on English Bay, 2 minute from Stanley Park, 40 minute bus-ride from conference site,
starting at $139/night
- Buchan Hotel WestEnd, 4 minutes from Lost Lagoon at Stanley Park, and Coal Harbour waterfront, 40 minute bus-ride from conference,
starting at $100/night
