Women in Physics Canada
The representation of women in physics in Canada is low:
21% of BSc, 24% of MSc, and 19% of PhD graduates are women [1].
Corresponding figures in Engineering Physics are 12%, 10% and 14%, respectively [1].
Bringing together young women in physics, astrophysics and
engineering physics presents an opportunity for the next generation of
women to form networks,
participate in a professional conference ,
gain information on careers in science and technology
and graduate and postdoctoral opportunities.
The conference will facilitate the sharing of experiences, ideas and advice, and present an opportunity
for participants to share their research/work experiences via poster and oral presentations.
Panel discussions will feature women in all career/educational stages, sharing advice and experiences.
