The Second "Women in Physics" Canada Conference starts late Wednesday afternoon, August 1,
with registration and a BBQ reception, and concludes Saturday afternoon, August 4.
The conference is aimed at young women in all areas of physics (including Engineering Physics & Astronomy)
primarily undergraduate and graduate students, as well as early career physicists and postdocs.
We're thrilled to
have 15 incredibly amazing women join us as invited speakers and panelists. (see their bios on menu at the left)

Our program includes some great panel discussions about careers in industry, gender issues in science, and transitions in
academia (check out panels and panelists' bios).
We'll have a random draw for those of you who submit questions for any of our panels.

June 20: We have awarded all Travel Awards: over $5000 in total.
June 29: Thank you for your abstract submissions!
We have received > 75 contributed abstracts for talks and posters.
All contributed talk slots are now filled.
We continue to accept abstracts for posters until July 15 ONLY from people already registered.
July 11: Registration is now CLOSED! WELCOME to Vancouver and UBC! More than 110 of us are participating, and we're coming from:
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Washington, Oregon, and California
Important Dates:
June 20, 2012: We have completely filled all contributed talks.
We are still accepting abstracts for posters until July 15th ONLY FROM PEOPLE ALREADY REGISTERED WHO WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT.
July 4, 2012:Accommodations held in room block at UBC have now been released.
There are are still some rooms available, but none are being held for us now.
July 11, 2012: We've passed 110 registeried participants! Registration is now CLOSED.
We are looking forward to welcoming all of you to UBC!

and we'll be over budget if we accept more participants)
