Welcome to Physics 203!
The first lecture will be on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, at 9:00am
via Zoom (notice non-standard start time). The Zoom link
will be available through Canvas.
For current students: Once the semester starts, you will use
Canvas together with this webpage
to get course information.
If you are not logged into Canvas,
you will be prompted for your CWL login information to download most files
(lecture notes, problem sets, tutorials, etc...) from this website.
For visitors: You can explore this website to get a feel for the material
covered by the course; however, many links to content on this page are available only to current students
and require log-in.
Here is some pre-term information for Physics 203:
- Instructor: Joanna Karczmarek
- Lectures: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9-11am, via Zoom at first
and in Hennings 200 once we return to in-person learning. Zoom lectures
will be synchronous and participation marks will be assigned.
Note: PHYS 203 is
a four-credit course with four `hours' of lectures a week.
- Textbook: No specific book is required. I strongly recommend that you use
"Thermal Physics" by Daniel V. Schroeder. This book has a new publisher
(Oxford Press) and is available both in paper and E-book versions. Previous
printings of the book are perfectly fine.
