Marcel Franz Marcel Franz is a professor in  the Department of Physics & Astronomy of the University of British Columbia. His research interests are in theoretical condensed matter physics and statistical mechanics, most recently focusing on problems in topological states of quantum matter. Previously, and more generally, he made contributions  to the theory of high temperature superconductivity, graphene, and various exotic phases of correlated electrons.
