Experiment 1 (6 weeks total)
  • 11 September [Fri] : Submit experiment #1 choices.
    • Email your LaTeX generated .pdf experiment choice list to Daniel by 5PM.
  • 14 September [Mon] : (week 1) Begin work on Experiment 1 and 2PM group discussions.
    • discussion of expectations for log books, python use for analysis and plotting, and errors and uncertainties.
  • 21 September [Mon] : (week 2) 2PM group discussions.
    • discussion of expectations for literature review and status updates.
  • 23 September [Wed] : (week 2) 2PM group discussions.
    • discussion on error analysis and curve fitting with python.
  • 28 September [Mon] : (week 3) 2PM group discussions and literature review interviews begin.
    • discussion of expectations for the reduced papers.
  • 5 October [Mon] : (week 4) 2PM group discussions and status updates due at midnight.
    • discussion on how to create a good talk.
  • 12 October [Mon]: (week 6) Thanksgiving Holiday
  • 21 October [Wed]: (week 6) Oral presentations (2-5 PM, location online).
    • Email your talk .pdf to Daniel by 12:00.
    • Everyone must attend all talks in their session.
  • 23 October [Fri]: Formal discussions and submit reduced papers, logbooks, experiment #2 choices
    • Email your REVTeX generated .pdfs of reduced PRL to Amy by 5PM and email your LaTeX .pdf of experiment #2 choices to Daniel by midnight.

  • 16 November [Mon] : (week 4) 2PM group discussions. and status updates due at midnight.
    • discussion of how to write a good paper.
  • 23 November [Mon] : (week 5) 2PM group discussion.
    • expectations for referee reply and paper revisions.
  • 27 November [Fri] : FINAL PAPER DUE.
    • Email REVTeX generated .pdfs of PRL manuscript to Amy by 5PM.
  • 30 November [Mon] : (week 6) Formal discussions.
  • 2 December [Wed] : (week 6) Manuscript feedback session.
  • 4 December [Fri] : (week 6) Revisions and logbooks due.
    • Email referee reply and revised manuscript and logbooks to Amy by 5PM.
