+----------------------------*** Part 1: Finishing assembly ***-------------------------+

Here is the procedure to follow machine-populated parts on the PCB:

1. Manually solder two SMA connectors (part Number: 002586)
on the PCB, J1 and J2 location. Note that the connector footprint includes a
solder pad adjacent to the connector flange on the bottom side of the PCB. It is
important that the seam formed by the PCB and connector flange be completely
sealed (no gaps) with a solder fillet.

2. Connect the pad (labelled FT1) to the top filter terminal (part number: 002892)
with a 2 cm (approximately) length of tinned bare 24 AWG wire.

3. Attach the power connection (part number 002955) to the PCB. The black wire
is a thru hole connection to the bottom of the PCB (marked as GND) and the blue is
soldered to the bottom terminal of of the filter (part number: 002892).

4. Label the PCB bottom with lables provided (Part Number 002701).

5. Attach the provided signal source with a quick connect SMA connector to the input
connector (J1) of the amplifier.

6. Appy 6.5 V DC to the power connector and verify that the current draw
is 0.330 Amp +/- 0.01. Fail this unit if current drawn is outside this range.

7. While maintaining power to the amplifier, (a) connect the spectrum analyzer to the
output connector (J2) and (b) run the test script on the computer provided. This step
should take less than 1 minute to complete. Remove all connections from the amplifer
when complete.

+----------------------------*** Part 3: final assembly ***-----------------------------+

5. Place the top shield so that its position is fixed by mounting tabs in
PCB holes and a snug fit against the flange of SMA at both ends of the PCB.
Assure that the shield fit is tight against the PCB.

6. Place the flat washers (part number 002780) over ends of the SMA connectors.

7. Place 1/4 inch, nickel plated lock washers and finger tighten nickel plated
nuts onto the ends of the SMA connectors.

8. While assuring that the shield fit against the top surface of the PCB is snug
(no obvious gaps between shield and PCB), tighten the SMA nuts to 5 in-lbs torque.

9. Seal the seam formed by the shield and PCB with a solder fillet. It is important
that the all available solder pad around the perimeter be sealed in this manner.
