Program Requirements

You should consult the University Calendar for the Faculty-wide requirements for graduation. The requirements include Some other details: NOTE: MATH 200 and 221 are prerequisites for PHYS 216. They should therefore be taken in the first term of the second year. Similarly, MATH 317 is a prerequisite for PHYS 301 (354). It should therefore be taken in the first term of the third year. If you have the necessary prerequisites you may take MATH 317 in the second term of the second year. In general, it is important that you don't postpone required Mathematics courses. If you do, many physics courses become unnecessarily difficult.

PHYS 420 is no longer given as separate course, instead there is a section of PHYS 409 which is equivalent to the old PHYS 420. Permission from instructor is required. PHYS 349 directed studies requires permission from the course leader in addition to the professor supervising the project.
