The annual Astronomy Jamboree returns on Sept 14/2026!
This event, which occurs the week before the first astronomy colloquium of the season, is a showcase of astronomy research at UBC. Students, postdocs, and faculty working in Astronomy and Astrophysics present 55-second 1-slide talks. This serves to rapidly (in an single session) allow all newcomers (new students and postdocs, visiting faculty) to get a sense of the breadth of research occuring in the department. Inversely, the group gets a chance to meet all the newcomers.
