Research Associate Position in Pre-Clinical Imaging at the Centre for Comparative Medicine
Applicants are invited to apply for a Research Associate position at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada, starting October 6, 2014.
The Research Associate position in the Positron Emission Tomography (PET)/ Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT) imaging Laboratory located at the UBC Center for Comparative Medicine, with additional relevant sites at TRIUMF and UBC main campus. The Laboratory is active in performing pre-clinical PET and SPECT imaging, with emphasis on development of quantitative imaging protocols and performance of preclinical studies related to a variety of basic science and medical questions. Applicants must have experience in laboratory practices, interaction with a variety of researchers and technologists, familiarity with university or college level physics, chemistry and biology.
The successful applicant is expected to take a leading role in the organization, scheduling and execution of the studies, in ensuring proper functioning of the laboratory, including smooth operation of the state of the art imaging equipment and compliance with appropriate safety and ethical considerations relevant to pre-clinical imaging research. The successful applicant will also be responsible for interacting with imaging investigators and budgeting. Furthermore, he/she will be helping in article writing for the imaging related projects.
