Abstract:
The Standard Model (SM) has been successful in describing known matter in terms of elementary particles and non-gravitational interactions. However, the Universe requires more than five times more matter than accounted for by the SM, called dark matter (DM). We approach this by considering DM residing in a dark sector, a collection of particle species feebly interacting with some of the SM species. This thesis explores two general classes of dark sectors and their cosmological and DM implications.
